Use glass water bottles instead of plastic ones. Environmentally friendlier and better water taste. And you will not have to bother with recycling.

Good for you. I believe every company (and individual for that matter) can reduce their carbon footprint by at least 10% per year without much difficulty. Imagine the positive impact that would have on our planet.

We recently switched to a CO2 friendly/free server system for our web design hosting. It's just one way we're contributing and we're feeling good by it! Our contribution to earth day this year and for the life of our business. Thanks for the great information.

Good point.

There are dozens of areas that can become greener--and I imagine LEED certified buildings in ten years will be even more energy efficient with even less impact on the carbon footprint than today.

We're doing just that!

“We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” It is up to each one of us to preserve it and improve our environment for now and for the future. We strongly believe that we can help that happen by collaborating together.

To celebrate Earth Day 2011, Shopanthropic is dedicating a collection of sustainable products from our Home, Gifts, and Fashion collection to raise funds for Evergreen, a charity whose objective is to make cities more liveable. In the month of April, 25% of proceeds from each sale of products from this collection will go towards supporting Evergreen’s endeavours in greening Canadian cities.

Evergreen has been engaging Canadians in creating and sustaining dynamic outdoor spaces – in schools, communities and homes since 1991. By deepening the connection between people and nature, by empowering Canadians to take a hands-on approach to their environments, and by creating innovative resources Evergreen is improving the health of our cities – now and for the future.

Key issues Evergreen is focused on include combating invasive species, reducing habitat destruction, addressing nature deficit disorder, and tackling climate change. Through a program called Evergreen Common Grounds, Evergreen is a leading national funder and facilitator of local, sustainable greening projects in schoolyards, parks and communities across Canada and working with Canadians in minimizing the effects of climate change. Each year they engage thousands of Canadians in helping to improve local environments from coast to coast. Through their collaborative approach and extensive partner network, they work with individuals, municipalities, stewardship groups, community organizations, businesses, schools and other landowners to bring nature to cities through planting, habitat stewardship and community gardening.

Purchase a sustainable product from our Earth Day collection and we’ll contribute 25% of retail price to Evergreen. Help us help Evergreen in their endeavours in improving the health of our cities – now and for the future!
